Very important is a road loss of third ranked KR (9-6) against sixth ranked Grindavik (5-10) on Saturday night. Visiting KR was defeated by Grindavik in Grindavik 67-56. The game was mostly controlled by Grindavik. KR was better in fourth quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Grindavik forced 27 KR turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Petrunella Skuladottir (177-85) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Grindavik's coach Johann Olafsson used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international power forward Sigrun Amundadottir (181-88, agency: Promotex) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and guard Gudrun Thorsteinsdottir (178-89) added 13 points and 19 rebounds respectively. Newly promoted Grindavik maintains sixth place with 5-10 record. KR at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Grindavik's next round opponent will be league's leader Keflavik at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Reykjavik Valur.
