Regular Season Round 15: Lyon - Aix-en-Provence 77-81

An interesting game took place in Lyon where 4th placed Lyon (9-6) was upset on its own court by eleventh ranked Aix-en-Provence (6-9) 81-77 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 40-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Aix-en-Provence made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Lyon turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Adja Konteh (178-92) who scored 28 points and 5 steals. Australian center Marianna Tolo (196-89) chipped in 20 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Mistie Mims (191-83, college: Duke) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and the former international swingman Audrey Sauret Gillespie (179-76) added 16 points respectively. Lyon's coach Laurent Buffard rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aix-en-Provence moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Charleville. Loser Lyon keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Landes. Aix-en-Provence will meet at home Villeneuve D'Ascq (#12) in the next round. Lyon will play against Charleville-Mezieres (#10) and hope to secure a win.
