An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Quaregnon. First ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut faced second-ranked Okapi Aalstar. Host Belfius Mons-Hainaut (8-3) smashed guests from Aalst (7-4) 96-73. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It looked good early as Okapi Aalstar took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Belfius Mons-Hainaut had a 18-11 second period charge getting the lead and Okapi Aalstar was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-96. American forward Josh Bostic (196-87, college: Findlay, OH) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points. His fellow American import guard Quincy Taylor (196-82, college: UAB) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Belfius Mons-Hainaut players scored in double figures. American guard Derek Raivio (190-84, college: Gonzaga) answered with 22 points and Samoan-American power forward John Tofi (203-84, college: UTEP) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Okapi Aalstar. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Belfius Mons-Hainaut have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-3 record. Okapi Aalstar at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Oostende. Belfius Mons-Hainaut will play against Spirou Charleroi (#5) on the road in the next round. Okapi Aalstar will play against Liege Basket in Liege and hopes to get back on the winning track.
