Regular Season Round 16: Waterloo - Lakehead 55-68

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Thunderwolves (5-4) won against on the road bottom-ranked Waterloo (0-9) 68-55 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Thunderwolves. Waterloo was better in fourth quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Thunderwolves forced 24 Waterloo turnovers. It was a very good performance for guard Carolyn Fragale (168-89) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 4 assists. Guard Katie Ulakovic (170-92) contributed with 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Kate Kuntze (188) replied with 17 points and guard Laura Bossers (178) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Waterloo. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Thunderwolves have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Western. Loser Waterloo still closes the standings with nine games lost. Thunderwolves will have a break next round. Waterloo will play on the road against Western (#4) in London and hopes to get finally their first victory.
