Not a big story in a game in Madrid where 7th ranked Asefa Estudiantes (8-8) was defeated by second ranked Caja Laboral (13-3) 72-68 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-68. Caja Laboral outrebounded Asefa Estudiantes 39-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized American guard Brad Oleson (191-83, college: Alaska-Fairb., agency: Duran International) who added 15 points during the contest. At the losing side center German Gabriel (207-80) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and American-French forward Tariq Kirksay (199-79, college: Iona) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Caja Laboral have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-3 record having just two points less than leader Real Madrid. Asefa Estudiantes at the other side dropped to the ninth place with eight games lost. Caja Laboral will face Assignia Manresa (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
