No shocking result in a game when second ranked Matera (13-4) defeated on the road 14th ranked Mazzeo San Severo (6-10) 80-76 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-76. The best player for the winners was naturalized Argentinian guard Carlos Sebastian Vico (190-86, agency: Players Group) who scored 23 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Power forward Antonio Iannuzzi (207-91, agency: Two Points) chipped in 16 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was center Andrea Iannilli (207-84) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Ivan Scarponi (196-86) added 23 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Mazzeo San Severo players scored in double figures. Matera have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-4 record having just -1 point less than leader Torino. Loser Mazzeo San Severo dropped to the thirteenth place with ten games lost. Matera will face bottom-ranked Bologna (#19) in Ozzano Emilia in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Mazzeo San Severo will play on the road against Treviglio (#6).
