Date: January 6, 2013
There was a minor upset in Hod Hasharon where 6th ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (5-7) was defeated by ninth ranked Bnei Hasharon (5-7) 94-88. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-20. But Hapoel Tel-Aviv won second period 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by American-Mexican swingman Romel Beck (201-82, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 30 points and American guard J.R. Reynolds (188-84, college: Virginia) supported him with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import point guard Demontez Stitt (186-89, college: Clemson) added 14 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bnei Hasharon moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hapoel T-A and Elizur Ashkelon. Hapoel Tel-Aviv lost fourth consecutive game.
