Regular Season Round 26: Fukuoka Rizing - Shimane SM 76-68

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Shimane Magic (16-8) against fourth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (16-8) on Sunday night. Visiting Shimane Magic was defeated by Fukuoka Rizing in a tough game in Fukuoka 68-76. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Shimane Magic. It looked good early as Shimane Magic took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Fukuoka Rizing took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 8 points. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida, agency: Top Notch Sports) chipped in 14 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Fukuoka Rizing's coach Atsushi Kanazawa allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Jeral Davis (216-84) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Fukuoka Rizing moved-up to third place, which they share with Shimane SM. Fukuoka Rizing will play against league's second-placed Hamamatsu Phoenix in Mikawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shimane Magic will play on the road against Miyazaki Shining Suns and hopes to get back on the winning track.
