A very interesting game took place in Ashdod. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked GreenTops Netanya (7-5) to eleventh ranked Maccabi Ashdod (4-8) 88-86 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of GreenTops Netanya. GreenTops Netanya was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 43-40 second half run of Maccabi Ashdod. The game was also dominated by American players. The winners were led by forward Mike Hall (203-84, college: G.Washington, agency: SportsTalent) who scored that evening 27 points and guard Mardy Collins (198-84, college: Temple) supported him with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 24 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) by swingman Deron Washington (201-85, college: Virginia Tech) did not help to save the game for GreenTops Netanya. Power forward Marco Killingsworth (203-82, college: Indiana, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Maccabi Ashdod and five GreenTops Netanya players scored in double figures. Maccabi Ashdod moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Hapoel Holon. GreenTops Netanya at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Maccabi Ashdod's next round opponent will be Hapoel Holon (#10) at home. GreenTops Netanya will play against Bnei Hasharon (#9) in Hod Hasharon.
