Regular Season Round 17: Bishop's - UQAM 55-66

Bottom-ranked Bishop's (0-5) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to second ranked UQAM (5-1) 66-55 on Wednesday evening. The game without a history. UQAM led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 28 Bishop's turnovers. Guard Valerie Gauvin stepped up and scored 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and center Emie Simard (183) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Riley Shkimba (178) responded with 16 points and Argentinian-Israeli power forward Eloisa Katz (182-91) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Bishop's' coach Alex Perno rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for UQAM. They keep a position of league leader. Bishop's lost their fifth game in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
