Leader Halcones UV Xalapa delivered the 35th win on Thursday night. This time they crushed 14th ranked Osos (6-34) 123-98. The game without a history. Halcones UV Xalapa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard LeRoy Hickerson (196-82, college: Cumberlands) who scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. International guard Orlando Mendez-Valdez (185-86, college: W.Kentucky) chipped in 23 points and 6 assists. Halcones UV Xalapa's coach Angel Gonzalez felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) who recorded 29 points and 9 rebounds and forward Jorge Camacho (200-89, college: E.Kentucky) added 19 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four Halcones UV Xalapa and five Osos players scored in double figures. Halcones UV Xalapa (35-4) have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place. Osos lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifteenth position with 34 games lost. Halcones UV Xalapa are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Gigantes (#16) in Toluca in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Osos will play at home against the league's second-placed Halcones Rojos in Veracruz and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
