NBL top team - New Zealand Breakers (13-3) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat sixth ranked Townsville Crocodiles (5-11) in Wulguru 82-78. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Townsville Crocodiles. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 23-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Townsville Crocodiles 44-18 including a 17-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. New Zealand Breakers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Cedric Jackson (191-86, college: Cleveland St.) notched a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and New Zealand swingman Thomas Abercrombie (198-87, college: Washington St., agency: Priority Sports) supported him with 19 points. New Zealand Breakers' coach Andrej Lemanis used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 29 points and 4 assists by American point guard Gary Ervin (183-83, college: Arkansas) did not help to save the game for Townsville Crocodiles. The former international center Luke Nevill (218-86, college: Utah) added 20 points for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. New Zealand Breakers have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-3 record.
