Regular Season Round 18: Acadia - Dalhousie 79-57

Date: January 11, 2013
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Axemen (7-1) crushed 6th ranked Tigers (3-6) in Wolfville, NS 79-57 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Axemen. Tigers was better in fourth quarter 26-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tigers to just 5 points in second quarter. It was a good game for guard Anthony Ashe (193) who led his team to a victory with 18 points. Guard Tyler Scott (188) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Five Axemen players scored in double figures. Guard Hassan Abdullahi replied with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Cameroonian forward William Yengue (193) added 6 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Tigers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Axemen maintains second position with 7-1 record having just -2 victories less than leader Cape Breton. Loser Tigers keep the sixth place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
