Important game to mention about took place in Quebec City, QC. First ranked Gaiters (5-1) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th ranked Rouge et Or (2-5) 68-65 on Friday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Rouge et Or won third quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gaiters made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Rouge et Or turnovers. Center Mike Andrews (208) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Onnex Blackwood (188) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Bosnian forward Boris Hadzimuratovic (204-91, college: High School) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and Thibaud Dezutter scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Gaiters have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-1 record. Rouge et Or at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Gaiters will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rouge et Or will play on the road against Redmen (#3) in Montreal, QC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
