The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Base Oostende as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Belfius Mons-Hainaut) loss. Base Oostende defeated 4th ranked Antwerp Giants at home 78-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Antwerp Giants. Base Oostende shot 65.1 percent from the field. Base Oostende had a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian-German swingman Mario Stojic (198-80, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and American guard Matt Lojeski (198-85, college: Hawaii) who added 13 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Gregg Thondique (201-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: FCM) with 16 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized American forward Ralph Biggs (199-76, college: Towson, agency: Court Side) scored 12 points. Base Oostende have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with M.Hainaut. Antwerp Giants at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Liege. Antwerp Giants will play next round against Leuven Bears trying to get back on the winning streak. Base Oostende will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut at Quaregnon.
