Regular Season Round 18: Laval - Bishop's 75-50

The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-ranked Bishop's' (0-6) road loss to fourth ranked Laval (3-4) 50-75 on Friday. The game without a history. Laval led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 19 Bishop's turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Laval especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. Gabrielle Girard scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots) to lead the charge for the winners and Melodie Dion chipped in 14 points during the contest. Coach Linda Marquis's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Gabrielle Girard with 17 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and Melodie Dion scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Laval maintains fourth position with 3-4 record. Loser Bishop's still closes the standings with six games lost. Laval will face higher ranked McGill (#3) in Montreal in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
