Wesmen (#3) forced the game against Thunderbirds (#1) into an overtime, but lost by three points 93-96 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime then Wesmen managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Thunderbirds who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 12-9. They made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Thunderbirds looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Brylle Kamen (201, college: San Jose St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). His fellow American import guard Doug Plumb (193, college: Minnesota St.) helped adding 22 points and 7 assists. At the losing side American forward Steven Wesley (196, college: E.Washington) responded with 29 points and 5 rebounds and guard Andrew Cunningham (186, college: Redlands CC) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Thunderbirds and five Wesmen players scored in double figures. Wesmen's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Thunderbirds. They maintain first place with 11-2 record. Loser Wesmen keeps the third position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
