Regular Season Round 19: UPEI - St.Mary's 92-72

Not a big story in a game in Charlottetown, PEI where 7th ranked Huskies (2-7) were rolled over by third ranked Panthers (7-2) 92-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Panthers. Huskies was better in fourth quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Deontay Smith who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. Brian Ofori helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side Nigerian guard Harry Ezenibe (190-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 18 rebounds and Brian Rouse scored 13 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Panthers. They maintain third place with 7-2 record having seven points less than leader Bishop's. Huskies lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
