Regular Season Round 19: TWU - Saskatchewan 85-92

Everything went according to plan in Langley, BC where third ranked Huskies (8-4) beat 6th ranked Spartans (4-8) 92-85 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 51-43 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Spartans outrebounded Huskies 45-26 including a 20-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Spartans were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Stephon Lamar (185, college: Pacific) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 6 assists. Guard Andrew Henry (188) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Huskies players scored in double figures. At the losing side Mark Perrin responded with 22 points and guard Tonner Jackson (201) scored 4 points and 15 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Huskies moved-up to second place. Loser Spartans keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
