Regular Season Round 15: Nancy - Poitiers 72-66

Date: January 12, 2013
No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Sluc Nancy (7-8) defeated at home 14th ranked Poitiers (5-10) 72-66 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Poitiers was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 11-point lead after three quarters before a 25-8 charge of Sluc Nancy, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for naturalized Ivorian point guard Souleyman Diabate (183-87, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. American forward Marcellus Sommerville (200-82, college: Bradley) helped adding 13 points and 12 rebounds. Four Sluc Nancy players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Ahmad Nivins (206-87, college: St.Joseph's) with 17 points and 5 rebounds and American-Italian guard Anthony Dobbins (194-81, college: Richmond) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Sluc Nancy moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 5 other teams. Poitiers lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Le Havre. Sluc Nancy will meet JDA Dijon (#11) on the road in the next round. Poitiers will play against JSF Nanterre and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
