Very expected game in Mexicali where 12th ranked Lechugueros (12-28) were crushed by third ranked Soles (31-9) 90-68. Lechugueros were ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 53-28 second half run of Soles. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Lechugueros' 28. Soles forced 21 Lechugueros turnovers. The winners were led by Panamanian forward Jamelle Horne (200-88, college: Arizona) who scored that evening 20 points and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Roman Martinez (201-88, college: N.Mexico) supported him with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Soles' coach Ivan Deniz felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest.
