Regular Season Round 17: BI SSA Gdynia - Gorzow 64-88

The most interesting game of round 17 was a home defeat of 7th ranked BI SSA Gdynia (6-7) by sixth ranked AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (7-6) who outscored them by 24 points 88-64 in the game for the sixth place. It ended the four-game winning streak of BI SSA Gdynia. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. International forward Agnieszka Skobel (179-89) stepped up and scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and Nigerian-American guard Chineze Nwagbo (183-82, college: Syracuse) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski players scored in double figures. American swingman Antonia Bennett (185-90, college: Florida A&M) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import point guard Lorin Dixon (162-89, college: Connecticut, agency: Merit Sports) scored 10 points. BI SSA Gdynia's coach Wadim Czeczuro gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski maintains sixth place with 7-6 record. BI SSA Gdynia at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski are looking forward to face higher ranked Energa Torun (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BI SSA Gdynia will play against Wisla Can-Pak in Krakow and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
