Regular Season Round 22: Huima - BC Nokia 65-54

Date: January 12, 2013
There was no surprise in Aanekoski where 10th ranked BC Nokia (3-15) was defeated by sixth ranked Aanekosken (9-8) 65-54. The game was mostly controlled by Aanekosken. BC Nokia was better in fourth quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded BC Nokia 47-29 including a 37-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American swingman Jasmin Holliday (182-90, college: Oregon) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) supported her with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Even 9 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Alberta Auguste (180-85, college: Tennessee) did not help to save the game for BC Nokia. Forward Nina Hyvarinen (175-80) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aanekosken maintains sixth position with 9-8 record, which they share with HoNsU. Newly promoted BC Nokia keeps the tenth place with 15 games lost. Aanekosken's next round opponent will be Kerava Energia Team (#8) at home. BC Nokia will play against the league's leader Catz Lappeenranta.
