Bottom-ranked Consum.it Siena is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 14th consecutive match to tenth ranked Irpino (6-8) 64-54. It looked good early as Consum.it Siena took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Irpino had a 16-9 second period charge getting the lead and Consum.it Siena was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 54-64. Irpino made 18-of-19 charity shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Consum.it Siena 48-27 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was naturalized Serbian forward Marija Micovic (187-82, agency: Players Group) who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). The former international center Adriana Grasso (189-74) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Laura Fabbri (174-92) who recorded 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Arianna Dragoni (174-94) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Consum.it Siena's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Irpino moved-up to eighth place in South, which they share with Salerno. Consum.it Siena lost their fourteenth game in a row. They still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Irpino's next round opponent will be higher ranked Ancona (#7) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Consum.it Siena will play against Min.Battipaglia (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
