The game in Melbourne was also quite interesting. Second ranked Dandenong Rangers (15-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Bulleen Boomers (7-11). Dandenong Rangers defeated Bulleen Boomers 83-72 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 43-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Dandenong Rangers made 17-of-17 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Dandenong Rangers outrebounded Bulleen Boomers 51-40 including 22 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. International Kathleen Macleod (167-86) notched 18 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the effort and Canadian center Krista Phillips (198-88, college: Michigan) supported her with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Four Dandenong Rangers players scored in double figures. Even 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) by international Rachel Jarry (185-91) did not help to save the game for Bulleen Boomers. Swingman Alice Kunek (186-91) added 9 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dandenong Rangers have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 15-3 record behind leader Bendigo S. Bulleen Boomers lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 11 games lost. Dandenong Rangers will meet Canberra Capitals (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Bulleen Boomers will play against Townsville Fire and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
