The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked West Coast Waves' (3-14) home loss to eighth ranked Canberra Capitals (6-12) in Perth 60-72. The game was mostly controlled by Canberra Capitals. West Coast Waves was better in third quarter 13-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded West Coast Waves 45-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Brigitte Ardossi (188-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. The former international guard Nicole Hunt (167-88) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Canberra Capitals players scored in double figures. Forward Kaye Tucker (182-83) produced 13 points and 8 rebounds and New Zealand forward Antonia Edmondson (181-87) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Canberra Capitals moved-up to seventh place. West Coast Waves at the other side stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Canberra Capitals' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Dandenong Rangers at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. West Coast Waves will play against Logan Thunder (#6) in Loganholme.
