Regular Season Round 16: Blois - Orchy 73-76

The most exciting game of round 16 in the NM1 took place in Blois. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked Blois (8-6) to first ranked Orchesien BC (11-3) 76-73 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 16-8. But Blois won second period 28-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Russell Carter (196-85, college: Notre Dame) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 rebounds. point guard Emilien Barbry (188-83) contributed with 4 points and 8 assists for the winners. Orchesien BC's coach Philippe Namyst used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Daviin Davis (193-85, college: Weber St.) replied with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Finnish forward Ville Kaunisto (205-82) added 10 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Blois. Four Blois players scored in double figures. Orchesien BC maintains first position with 11-3 record. Blois at the other side keeps the sixth place with six games lost. They share the position with La Rochelle. Orchesien BC are looking forward to face Angers BC 49 (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Blois will play against Monaco (#9) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
