Bottom-ranked VL Pesaro managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of eleven consecutive loses on Sunday night. This time they won against fourteenth-ranked Air Avellino 78-71. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 21-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for VL Pesaro especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. It was a great evening for Croatian point guard Rok Stipcevic (185-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 5 assists. American-Lebanese swingman Antwain Barbour (196-82, college: Kentucky, agency: Three Eye Sports) helped adding 22 points. VL Pesaro's coach Zare Markovski allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. VL Pesaro (3-12) moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Angelico BI. Loser Air Avellino dropped to the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Sutor MGR. VL Pesaro will meet higher ranked Lottomatica Roma (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Air Avellino will play against Sutor Montegranaro (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
