The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Grindavik (9-3) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Keflavik (7-5) 106-98. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Grindavik. The guests trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 53-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Keflavik especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. It was a good game for the former international guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO, agency: Two Points) who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners. American forward Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) replied with 36 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import point guard Sammy Zeglinski (182-88, college: Virginia) added 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Grindavik. Five Keflavik and four Grindavik players scored in double figures. Grindavik's coach Sverrir Sverrisson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Keflavik maintains sixth position with 7-5 record. Defending champion Grindavik still keeps top place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Keflavik are looking forward to face higher ranked Stjarnan (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Grindavik will play against the league's second-placed Snaefell in Stykkisholmur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
