Regular Season Round 15: Broni - Muggia 67-58

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Muggia's (5-10) road loss to ninth ranked Broni (7-8) 58-67 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-10. But Muggia won second period 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for guard Silvia Caru (176-83) who led her team to a victory with 16 points. Center Veronica Besagni (185-86) contributed with 6 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Guard Annalisa Borroni (183-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (182-88) added 18 points in the effort for Muggia. Broni moved-up to eighth place in North, which they share with San Salvatore. Muggia lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with ten games lost. Broni will face league's leader Umana Reyer in Venezia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Muggia will play at home against Valmadrera (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
