We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Orvieto (3-8) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Pall.Pozzuoli (3-8) 63-54. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 16-13 Orvieto's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 63-54 at the end of the game. Pall.Pozzuoli dominated on the defensive end, holding Orvieto to just 7 points in first quarter. It was a very good performance for American swingman Darxia Morris (172-89, college: UCLA, agency: Merit Sports) who helped to win the game recording 22 points. Ukrainian forward Olga Maznichenko (187-91, agency: LBM Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American center Shamela Hampton (191-87, college: UNLV) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Polish center Patrycja Gulak-Lipka (192-82, college: Massachusetts) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Orvieto. Pall.Pozzuoli moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Priolo and Orvieto. Orvieto lost sixth consecutive game. Pall.Pozzuoli will play against Priolo (#7) on the road in the next round. Orvieto will play against Taranto and hopes to get back on the winning track.
