Very expected game when 11th ranked SAIE3 BO (6-9) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Cantu (11-4) 79-64 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 41-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Maarten Leunen (206-85, college: Oregon) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Belgian point guard Jonathan Tabu (190-85) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. Four Cantu players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Mason Rocca (204-77, college: Princeton) who recorded 10 points and 8 rebounds and Swedish Viktor Gaddefors (203-92) added 15 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cantu have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Montepaschi. SAIE3 BO lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with nine games lost. Cantu will face Umana Venezia (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. SAIE3 BO will play against Vanoli Cremona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
