Regular Season Round 15: Palmeiras - Pinheiros/Sky 85-94
Date: January 15, 2013
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Pinheiros (10-4) beat 16th ranked Palmeiras (2-12) in Sao Paulo 94-85 on Tuesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Palmeiras won fourth quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pinheiros made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. It was a good game for naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (196-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Joe Smith (193-77, college: Al.-Huntsville) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Pinheiros' coach Claudio Mortari used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Fernando Coloneze (207-78) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Guto Pereira (190-83) added 23 points in the effort for Palmeiras.
