Regular Season Round 23: Shandong FB - Beijing Ducks 109-92

The game between Top Four teams took place in Jinan. Third ranked host Shandong Bulls (15-7) defeated second-ranked Beijing Ducks (15-6) 109-92. The game was mostly controlled by Shandong Bulls. Beijing Ducks managed to win fourth quarter 39-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shandong Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Beijing Ducks' 28. They outrebounded Beijing Ducks 49-36 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shandong Bulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Beijing Ducks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for center HanLin Tao (206-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Jordanian forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) helped adding 19 points and 17 rebounds. Four Shandong Bulls players scored in double figures. American guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 26 points and international center YanXi Zhu (209-90) scored 22 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shandong Bulls have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain third place with 15-7 record having four points less than leader Guangdong ST. Beijing Ducks at the other side keep the second position with six games lost. Shandong Bulls are looking forward to face TianJin Steel (#9) in Tianjin in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Beijing Ducks will play on the road against Qingdao Eagles (#17) and are hoping to win this game.
