Fourth-ranked KR (9-8) made lots of trouble for first ranked Keflavik (16-1). Keflavik managed to secure only nine-point victory 75-66. However their fans expected easier game. KR was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 18-12 charge of Keflavik, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 11-2. Keflavik forced 21 KR turnovers. Strangely KR outrebounded Keflavik 57-44 including 19 on the offensive glass. Forward Sara Run Hinriksdottir (165-96) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and American guard Jessica Jenkins (172-90, college: St.Bonaventure) accounted for 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Keflavik players scored in double figures. American guard Shannon McCallum (177-87, college: Charlotte) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international power forward Sigrun Amundadottir (181-88, agency: Promotex) added 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for KR in the defeat. Keflavik maintains first place with 16-1 record. KR lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with eight games lost. Keflavik's next round opponent will be Njardvik (#6) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. KR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Reykjavik Fjolnir.
