Regular Season Round 21: Saskatchewan - UBC Okanagan 91-64
Date: January 18, 2013
Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Heat (2-12) was outscored by third ranked Huskies (9-4) in Saskatoon, SK 91-64 on Friday. The game without a history. Huskies led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Heat's 34. Huskies forced 22 Heat turnovers and outrebounded them 39-21 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for forward Matthew Forbes (198) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Landry Ndayitwayeko (190) answered with 14 points and Azi Fahandeg-Sadi (193) added 13 points in the effort for Heat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Huskies have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Queen's. Heat lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Huskies will face Wolfpack (#4) in Kamloops, BC in the next round. Heat will play on the road against the league's leader Golden Bears (#1) in Edmonton, AB.
