Regular Season Round 21: Western - Lakehead 55-62

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Thunderwolves (7-5) defeated 8th ranked Mustangs (1-11) in London, ON 62-55 on Friday. Mustangs were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Mustangs 45-26 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for naturalized Egyptian forward Yoosrie Salhia (198-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Greg Carter (178-90) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Thunderwolves' coach Scott Morrison used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Peter Scholtes (196) answered with 21 points and forward Greg Morrow (190) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Mustangs. Thunderwolves maintains second place with 7-5 record having just one points less than leader Windsor. Mustangs lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. Thunderwolves will have a break next round. Mustangs will play again at home against the league's second-placed Thunderwolves (#2) in Thunder Bay, ON.
