Another exciting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Doha: Al Arabi (#4) and Qatar Sports Club (#7). Al Arabi (10-3) crushed visiting Qatar Sports Club (3-10) by 23 points 93-70. Al Arabi dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Qatar Sports Club's 42. They outrebounded Qatar Sports Club 48-32 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American-Nigerian forward Alvin Mofunanya (203-87, college: Fair Dickinson, agency: Dream Team Management) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. American swingman William Byrd (201-85, college: Ark.-Pine Bluff) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks. Four Al Arabi players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Chauncey Leslie (183-81, college: Iowa) who recorded 30 points and 6 assists and Cameroonian forward Gaston Moliva (202-85, college: Richmond) added 22 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Al Arabi have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Sadd. Qatar Sports Club lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with ten games lost.
