There was a minor upset when 4th placed Toronto (5-6) lost on the road to seventh ranked York (2-10) 85-71 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by York. Toronto was better in third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Toronto was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for French guard Cyrielle Recoura (172-91) who led her team to a victory with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Courtney Osborne (180) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four York players scored in double figures. Forward Rachael Sider (178) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and forward Amanda Lauzon (185) added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Toronto. Toronto's coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. York maintains seventh place with 2-10 record. Toronto lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with six games lost. York's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Toronto Ryerson.
