NM1 top team - Orchesien BC (12-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Angers BC 49 (5-10) in Orchies 88-65. The game without a history. Orchesien BC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Orchesien BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Angers BC 49's players. American guard Russell Carter (196-85, college: Notre Dame) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and center Olivier Gouez (217-84) chipped in 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American forward Anthony Hill (204-88, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and center Maxime Chupin (205-89, college: Cal-Irvine) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Five Orchesien BC and four Angers BC 49 players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Orchesien BC maintains first place with 12-3 record. Angers BC 49 lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. They share it with Challans. Orchesien BC will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Angers BC 49 will play on the road against Monaco (#7) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
