An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Nijmegen. Third ranked Groningen faced 4th placed M.Magixx. Guests from Groningen (15-7) defeated host M.Magixx (12-9) 81-68. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 42-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Groningen dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to M.Magixx's 18. They outrebounded M.Magixx 41-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. Groningen looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) fired 17 points for the winners. Ghanian-American guard Kwadzo Ahelegbe (187-88, college: N.Iowa) produced 12 points and 6 assists and Canadian forward Henry Bekkering (198-85, college: E.Washington) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Groningen have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 15-7 record having just two points less than leader Den Bosch. M.Magixx at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Groningen are looking forward to face Weert (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. M.Magixx will play against Rotterdam (#10) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
