An interesting game took place in Huelva where higher ranked Jopisa Burgos (5-7) was upset on the court of tenth ranked Conquero (3-9) 63-51 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Conquero. Jopisa Burgos was better in second period 14-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Conquero forced 20 Jopisa Burgos turnovers and outrebounded them 36-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. American forward Bernice Mosby (186-84, college: Baylor) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and the former international point guard Lidia Mirchandani (172-76) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side center Laura Gil (190-92, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and American Rachel Allison (185-87, college: Baylor) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Newly promoted Conquero maintains tenth place with 3-9 record. Jopisa Burgos at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Conquero will face higher ranked Hondarribia-Irun (#8) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
