Regular Season Round 22: Concordia - Bishop's 82-68

There was a change at the CIS leadership position after last games. Round 22 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Gaiters (5-3). They were defeated by third ranked Stingers (5-3) 82-68 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Stingers. Gaiters managed to win fourth quarter 20-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stingers held Gaiters to an opponent 0.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.0 percent accuracy of the winners and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game, while Gaiters only scored point from the stripe. They outrebounded Gaiters 33-0 including a 25- advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international point guard the former international point guard Kyle Desmarais (188-87, college: Cent.Conn.St.) (188-87, college: Cent.Conn.St.) scored 25 points, 5 assists and 6 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward forward Evens Laroche (193) (193) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Stingers' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international point guard the former international point guard Kyle Desmarais (188-87, college: Cent.Conn.St.) (188-87, college: Cent.Conn.St.) responded with 25 points, 5 assists and 6 steals and forward forward Evens Laroche (193) (193) scored 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Stingers moved-up to second place, which they share with Bishop's. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
