The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Redmen as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Redmen smashed 4th ranked Citadines in Montreal, QC 68-42. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Citadines. The game was mostly controlled by Redmen. Citadines was better in fourth quarter 11-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Citadines to just 5 points in first quarter. Redmen dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Citadines' 20. Redmen forced 21 Citadines turnovers. American guard Adrian Hynes-Guery (190, college: Amer.Internat.) notched 11 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and Serbian forward Aleksandar Mitrovic (198) supported him with 14 points and 4 steals. Even 9 points and 7 rebounds by guard Richard Kwaku Addai (183-88) did not help to save the game for Citadines. Forward Philippe Tamba added 7 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Redmen have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Citadines at the other side keep the fourth place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
