Regular Season Round 24: Komarno - Inter Bratislava 85-76

Extraliga top team - Komarno (16-5) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked Inter Bratislava (10-12) 85-76. After very bad start, Inter Bratislava stormed back in the second period cutting the deficit to 2 points 38-36. But it was not enough and Komarno took back the control in second half. Inter Bratislava was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Kevin Thompson (205-89, college: Morgan St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import point guard Chris Lowe (182-87, college: Massachusetts, agency: KMG Sports Management) who added 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Komarno players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Martin Rancik (204-78, college: Iowa St.) with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Justin Graham (193-88, college: San Jose St.) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Komarno maintains first position with 16-5 record. Inter Bratislava at the other side keeps the sixth place with 12 games lost. Komarno will play against Handlova (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Inter Bratislava will play against Nova Ves and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
