Regular Season Round 17: Monaco - Blois 75-67

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Monaco (8-7) beat at home 7th ranked Blois (8-7) 75-67 on Saturday. Monaco made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Blois turnovers. The best player for the winners was naturalized Tunisian power forward Mehdi Labeyrie-Hafsi (203-78) who scored 17 points. Guard Moustafa Diallo (187-80) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Monaco players scored in double figures. Monaco's coach Jean-Michel Senegal used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Finnish forward Ville Kaunisto (205-82) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and center Jonathan Tornato (210-89) added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. Monaco moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Blois and Rueil. Blois lost their third game in a row. Monaco will meet at home Angers BC 49 (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Blois will play against Vendee Challans (#13) and hope to secure a win.
