Regular Season Round 15: Rapla - TTU 75-70

TTU (#4) was upset in Rapla by seventh ranked Rapla 75-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of TTU. TTU was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 20-14 charge of Rapla, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 TTU turnovers. Strangely TTU outrebounded Rapla 37-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Rait-Riivo Laane (179-93) who led the winners and scored 13 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Forward Illimar Pilk (195-88) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Five Rapla players scored in double figures. Rapla's coach Indrek Ruut allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Kiur Akenparg (190-88) came up with 22 points and 5 assists and the former international forward Erik Keedus (198-90) added 16 points respectively for TTU in the defeat. Rapla (7-10) moved-up to sixth place. TTU at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Rapla will play against league's second-placed BC Rakvere on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TTU will play against the league's leader TU/Rock in Tartu and hopes to get back on the winning track.
