Regular Season Round 17: Perpignan - Tarbes 73-78

The game between third ranked Perpignan (11-5) and seventh ranked Tarbes (9-8) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Perpignan was defeated by Tarbes in a tough game in Perpignan 73-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Perpignan. Tarbes forced 21 Perpignan turnovers. The former international guard Paoline Salagnac (176-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds. Spanish guard Gabriela Ocete (170-88) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The former international forward Diandra Tchatchouang (186-91, college: Maryland) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds and American swingman Angie Bjorklund (183-89, college: Tennessee) added 19 points in the effort for Perpignan. Five Tarbes and four Perpignan players scored in double figures. Tarbes moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Nantes. Newly promoted Perpignan keeps the third position with five games lost. Tarbes is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Union Hainaut (#14) in Saint-Amand in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Perpignan will play on the road against Nantes Reze (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
