Regular Season Round 15: Al Sadd - Al Shamal 80-52

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Sadd (#4) and Al Shamal (#8). Al Sadd (10-3) crushed visiting Al Shamal (2-11) by 28 points 80-52. Al Sadd looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Al Shamal's players. It was a great evening for American center Michael Southall (210-82, college: La-Lafayette) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Senegalese forward Ibrahima Thomas (210-87, college: Cincinnati) helped adding 17 points and 11 rebounds. Five Al Sadd players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Tyvon Williams (182-87, college: S.Carolina St.) with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Nigerian-American guard Mezie Nwigwe (193-88, college: Robert Morris) scored 19 points and 4 assists. Al Sadd moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Arabi. Newly promoted Al Shamal keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost.
