Very expected game when 9th ranked Orvieto (3-9) lost at home to fourth ranked Taranto (8-3) 71-54 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Taranto. Orvieto managed to win second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Orvieto to just 6 points in first quarter. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Taranto made 7 blocks. Lithuanian center Gintare Petronyte (196-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Israeli guard Liron Cohen (173-82) contributed with 19 points and 5 assists for the winners.
